What About Now

“What About Now” – Song by Don Grieve, inspired by Ecce Puer from James Joyce

From 2001, found an old disc with this project from Gypsy of the Celts album… to purchase mp3: Click here to listen & purchase. – filmed on Mt Noorat in the Western District, South West Victoria.

Ecce Puer – James Joyce:

Of the dark past a child is born
With joy and grief my heart is torn
Calm in his cradle the living lies
May love and mercy unclose his eyes
Young life is breathed on the glass;
The world that was not comes to pass
A child is sleeping: an old man gone
O, father forsaken, forgive your son!

20th October 2012, Majella Winery, Penola S.A.

Hello One and All

We are performing at Brian Lynn’s Majella Winery on the 20th October. Be a great place to sample a few wines and take in the beautiful border town of Penola. There are some great weekend getaway places to explore but the main event will be at the winery listening to Myself and Angela as you sip on the wines mmmmm can you just see it aaaah!

We are also looking for other oppertunities to perform our unique blend of music so any festivals coming up, parties and anything realy … could be the name of a band eh!

Give us a call 0434 832 235  or jump on the e-mail or facebook and drop a line.

We had a wonderful Robert Burns Scottish Festival in Camperdown Victoria with Len Murray giving a talk on the Life of Burns and Angela and I performing the song that made up the man’s life as The Bard of Scotland.

We believe that Corangamire Shire and the town of Camperdown will keep the festival going as an anual event. So keep the dates 24th 25th August 2013 in the book. It is just as well to keep the 23rd of August each year also in the diary as this date is now known as William Wallace Day. Yip, the blue faced man in Brave Heart the movie.

Meanwhile bloggers, facebookies and e-mail suffers keep an eye on this page and the others and we will continue to surprise you and oft times ourselves with what appears here.

Oo Roo The Noo

Camperdown Robert Burns Festival 2012 with Len Murray

Absolutely loved the opportunity to perform alongside Len Murray as he told the history of Burn’s life and songs, by Camperdown’s restored statue of the man himself – great!

Mornington Crescent

A song written by Walter Liederschmitt, London 2012. We helped make this recording in April. It’s a little fun about New Year and its possibilities foretold. Thanks for a great time in Trier Walter :)   www.voltaire-woltaehr.de

This is how Walter describes the song:

Song inspired by London & the mood, New Year’s Day 2012, early morning, queuing up for tickets to the Da Vinci exhibit in the National Gallery, Trafalgar Sq., reading a newspaper outlook for 2012: that on June 6th Venus will make her 2nd transit journey (whatever that means); and that the Mayan Calender says: Dec 21st may be the world’s end. I don’t believe it: We’ll survive (most of us)… Because: This year won’t be like a riding on the gloom tube — ‘t will be (run in) a love train… according to a TV comedian (BBC, New Year’s night, 1:40am). The World’s End now is a pub near Camden Town Station, formerly named: The Mother Red Caps, founded in 1676, frequented by Karl Marx, Frederick Engels and Wilhelm Liebknecht, Londoners of the 2nd half of the 19th century, which tickles me as I am a visitor from Germany too!

Hope you enjoy the song – It’s my song of the year 2012 !!!
Complete lyrics can be found here:

Dedicated to Amy Winehouse & gloom tube survivors everywhere… bring on 2012!!!

Uploaded to celebrate Beltane… night of the bewitched!

John of Dreams

A song on the banks of the Mosel.

Hello All You Good Folk Out There! We have had a wonderful time of things on the Mosel River sailing along in a Roman Galley. Great scenery, fantastic wine, what a location. Later we were up the high banks for a quick lunch before filming again on the banks of the Mosel. Last night performed in an old tower in the city of Trier. Such amazing locations we are having the opportunity to perform. Today May Day we are off to the woods to play and relax around a BBQ fire and a few local white wines and a sparkling or two. We wish you all a fantastic May Day/Labour Day. Ciao to the next page of events.
